Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed

I'm focusing on the negative today, but rather than fight it, I'm going to wallow in it and own it. In that spirit, I present one of the most maddeningly horrible songs of the 1990s. According to the New England Journal of Medicine, liking this song is a sure sign that you were born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Scientific fact!

I need a new mix tape! Will you make me one that goes with a snooty hybrid?

Your comment accompanies my post about "Cumbersome." Does this mean you want this song on your mix? Your new Prius would break down IMMEDIATELY if you were to play something as low-brow as "Cumbersome" on its stereo system. I know: I once tried to play my Marc Anthony mix CD on Gwen's Prius, and next thing I know, I have to feed it diesel to calm it down.

Worst song ever.

Looks like anonymous also woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I say, "Terrible song, but not the worst ever." That would be "Jeremy," or "Daughter," or "Alive," etc. They are worse for the pretense of being good, while "Cumbersome" is quite obviously awful.

I like "Alive" okay, but I agree that "Jeremy" and "Daughter" were maddeningly pretentious. I would have also put up a video for that Shawn Mullins song, "Lullaby" (which, oddly, has a refrain that goes, "Rockabye"--why didn't he name the song "Rockabye," that would have made more sense), but there was no way to embed that video in the blog. "Rockabye" (let's call it what it is) is pretty close in horribility to "Cumbersome."
